DUI Checkpoint
On Saturday evening 5-28-11, 447 cars were stopped and no impaired drivers were found. (We did observe six cars that had installed ignition interlock devices. These devices are generally required by courts after a DUI conviction and require the driver to submit a sample with no alcohol indicated before the car will start. Drivers have to pay a hefty installation fee and monthly maintenance fee for this “privilege”)
Any checkpoint is successful when the PD employees can go home at the end of the night. Thanks for slowing down and following directions as you came through our checkpoints.
